When I was in kindergarten, I was appalled by my fellow classmates’ absolute ignorance about unicorns. Always one to come up with my own solution, I came home and told my mom I wanted to write a book to educate my classmates about something so vitally important. So she typed while I told her about the different breeds of fantasy equine. My first book, printed and bound at Office Depot, was “All About Unicorns and Pegasus.” I never sold a copy, as each of the several dozen books were given away to friends and family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was very much that stereotypical “horse girl” in my youth.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

While kindergarten me didn’t have a very good business strategy, she did have a discover the two passions of my life: education and art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the school year<\/a>, I teach first graders how to not only become better students, but better people. To become curious citizens who can use their imagination to influence and change the world, no matter where their path in life may lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In my spare time, I sit at my desk and let my own creative juices flow. I illustrate<\/a> science fiction and fantasy books as well as publish the occasional short story<\/a>. I love creating works that tell a story, that have a sense of life to them, as if they were photographs of both the epic and the day-to-day life of the fantasy world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I’m not at school or glued to my desk, you can find me with my nose in a book, gardening, knitting, and learning about every little thing that catches my eye.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
